Herbal medicine has a long history dating at least 5,000 years ago in many cultures across the planet. Ayurveda, Chinese, and Western European herbalism are the most popular in the world today, but there a plenty more in different cultures and regions of the world.
The ingredients on your spice rack are medicinal herbs. Using these in herbs regularly in our cooking is by far the easiest way to consume our medicine. Cardamom is a fantastic herb that aides in digestion and assimilation and known for “cutting through mucus”. Parsley is a diuretic that moves water accumulation in the body and can help eliminate kidney stones. Cayenne is a blood mover capable of relieving pain. Thyme opens breathing in the upper respiratory tract, kills bacteria and is an antiviral.
